Kia Mu Sze

Join Roman and Simon as we do our best to test the listings made by Kerr and later by Chan. What has been missed? Which overprints have been assigned to the wrong towns? What is genuine and what is suspect? - You get the idea......

Kia Mu Sze

Post by Mike »

Morning All

This is my first post on the MLO board and it is in the form of a question

I recently picked up some Kia Mu Sze Kerr 91 2.6 and 91.10. They all have cancellations on then but neither Kerr nor Chan show any cancelled items.

So my question is are they fake cancellations and if so how do you tell.

Sample pictures below

Cheers

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry, but the postmarks are fake... is an old confirmed fake postmark (registered as F1 of Jiamusi). This is not the only one, there were more fake postmarks used in Jiamusi around. How to tell... well, there are many fake covers with this postmark around and this postmark was never found on genuine covers for example. A characteristic all fake postmarks have is the smeared oily impression.

Best wishes,

Roman

PS: Kerr with his clone Chan is no reliable reference for used stamps.

Thanks Roman

I thought as much. Traps for newcomers to MLO's. I will chalk it up to experience

Cheers
