Join Roman and Simon as we do our best to test the listings made by Kerr and later by Chan. What has been missed? Which overprints have been assigned to the wrong towns? What is genuine and what is suspect? - You get the idea......

I'm really wondering, why nobody ever noticed, Kerr 131 was issued in Longzhen (龍鎮) under the jurisdiction of Bei’an (北安) and not Longjing (龍井)? Both towns have a distance of more than 1.000 km.
Somewhere earlier I wrote I have already a long list of towns which were wrongly located by Kerr, that's not a big problem and might happen as in the 70s many information were missing which we have today. However funny is the long development of all the mistakes in follow up articles, publications and even widely used catalogs like Chan.

I don't know how much research went into Chan. Clearly some did but not nearly enough.
