Hong Kong Annigoni stamps

Post by Dawn » Wed Jul 24, 2019 12:44 pm

On the right stamp, I noticed a lack of color along the right side of the queen's face (left side to us.) I saw what appeared to be a golden glow with my naked eye. The text seems to be lighter as well. Is this a simple color shift, color missing or a counterfeit stamp? I have not found it on any other stamps, but some do appear to have a darker line along the backside of the queen. Image

Welcome Doe,

Trying to say something concrete when looking at an online image is chancy.

I definitely see what you are talking about for the Queen's right side. That by itself would suggest a mis-registration. But there are a number of other things I see that make me wonder about this stamp.

I do not collect HK, so will stop here and hope others will give you more information.

Again, welcome to CSS and the Forum and hope your collecting goes well.

Hi Archie,

Thank you for the welcome and the reply. I've started plucking this series out of approvals just to see if I can find another. Not yet. lol

Best Regards,
Dawn
