Thanks Roman. That is good info. Was not aware that at times on other series this also happened. You are a wealth of knowledge on Chinese philately. Thanks again! David.
I will send you another interesting scan when I get back to my desk with a different overprint that has 4 characters on bottom instead of two. Maybe you know about it and can teach me about it.

Dear Roman:
Attached is scan of the stamp I've been informed is a trial proof of the overprint. Was told is rare and reads "One Yuan" and "Postage"
Any extra info from you is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David.

Hi Roman:
This is best scan. I've been told there are only 3 of these known. May be fake?

HI Dave,

the scan is too bad to do any opinion. In general new findings are always very dangerous!

Kind Regards,

Roman

Just saw the newest Kelleher sale cat. I noticed it had an un-overprinted copy of the UPU stamp. Just in case anyone is interested.

Think the online catalogue is now out also.

The stamp at Kelleher has a strange white paper impression and some surface scratches, please be careful it's not a forgery (removed overprint), better ask for a certificate of authenticity from the CSS to be safe.

Wow! Thanks for heads up.
I have one such corner stamp without overprint that I purchased years ago from Michael Rogers, but do not have the certificate (I trusted him in our dealings because of his vast knowledge). Since he kinda joined in with Kelleher I've never given 2nd thoughts on their material; but you right and certificate of authenticity should be sought.
Thanks again,
David
PS: how do I proceed in order to get CSS certificate on what I have and on future items, and what are the fees? Thanks.

Can you show me a good scan of your unoverprinted stamp?

For the CSS fees I think you can check here:
