Re: Kerr 147.3-4, 3 or 4 different types?

I could only find three different types that were consistant over both 2f issues. However, like most people I only looked at the characters flagged up by Kerr.

There are certainly different inks used as you show in your image.

Unlisted Set

I attach a picture of a set of stamps that look very similar to a Harbin overprint - see Kerr 54 1-13. The difference in in the stem of the 中 Chung which normally has to small lines coming from the tail. I attach a pictures with an arrow, indicating the area missing these lines. I am sure we are all...

Re: MLO lots on eBay

Thanks for starting this thread, we need to comment on the latest ebay material. This seller needs a decent scanner. He has some stamps listed for Fa Ku that don't belong, the chop looks wrong but the images are too poor to see what they are (even though he has added some closeups recently). Note to...

Re: The Commemoratives

Do you mean overprinted commemorative stamps on covers or commemorative overprints on covers (ie; Liberation Anniversary Commemoratives, 9-2 etc)?

Re: Kerr 136.

For those who don't know Kerr 136 is Mao Erh Shan.

I know the question was not addressed to me but for what its worth I have never seen a postally used cover from this town. I have seen Harbin dealer covers with a Harbin postmark but I don't count those.

Re: Kerr 91.9a

Keep these images coming Roman. I agree, you could not make a convincing MLO booklet pane from a sheet of stamps. It might fool someone unfamilier with Manchukuo booklet panes, but not anyone who collected this area. The simple answer for why they were made is surely commerce, what other answer coul...

I am convinced - we will call this one a fake.

But you know what they say - you have to kiss a lot of Princesses before you find a frog (more sooth).

Re: What is it? Item 1

I know the cancel date is 1940. This is kang-teh dating. It seems to me an odd thing to do, if you are going to the trouble of making a forgery to put it on a stamp with an impossible cancel. This does not rule out a fake overprint, lots of those about, it just seems stupidly self defeating. My view...
