Re: Sources for Reprints?

It depends on whether you are asking about reprints which were officially printed, or facsimilies which may or may not be legitimate. The facsimilies I am talking about all have a thin diagonal line in the bottom corner, usually trying to invalidate the value. I am not an active eBay buyer, but assu...

Re: Book: Illustration Chinese Machine Cancels

You might want to check with the CSS library. If in the US, and a CSS member you can check out a book. Largest holding of both English and Chinese language publications on the planet.

By contacting them you might also be able to find a "For Sale" copy.

Re: hidden sheet counter numbers

Current new issues editor (includes PRC) for CSS is William Wise at william.wise@cox.net
Current Librarian for CSS is Hugh Lawrence at hugh.lawrence@att.net

Try either of both of these gentlemen with your question.

Apologies if I gave you wrong information previously.

CSS auctions

From CSS President and auction manager James Maxwell: The November 2019 CSS Auction closes in ten (10) days. This auction has 1,268 lots. It has the nicest selection of PRC we have had in some time, especially the Ws. There are 354 ROC items, 312 PRC items, 111 Liberated Area items, 83 Taiwan items,...

Re: Please help to identify this Due mark

Good morning Candarin from Florida, USA. I was hoping someone knowledgeable would answer your question. I mainly stick to the PRC so old ROC or Imperial markings are not my forte. But If I remember, there is an (or more?) excellent book on the Postal Markings of China. One such is Peter Paget's book...

Re: Just Joined? - Please tell us something about yourself.

Good morning Karl, at least it is here in Florida, USA. Welcome to the forum and I see you have already met Dawn. If my memory serves me, William Wise wrote about these numbers appearing on individual stamps several years ago in The China Clipper , journal of the CSS that Dawn referred to. You might...

Re: Newbie

Welcome Peter. Manchuko? Gees, just spent a couple of weeks organizing a part of my collection. Moved it from Scott number organization to the CSS catalogue system, called Mengkiang in the CSS catalogue. Both are very different. I'm staying away from the MLO however. Have to say I got lost and confu...

Re: Have you seen this fakes before?

I do not remember ever being asked to look at this set before.

Interesting to say the least. But as I have said many times on here. it is hard to tell from a computer scan posting.

Thank you for sharing. Hope collectors take note of your findings.

Re: Hong Kong Annigoni stamps

Welcome Doe, Trying to say something concrete when looking at an online image is chancy. I definitely see what you are talking about for the Queen's right side. That by itself would suggest a mis-registration. But there are a number of other things I see that make me wonder about this stamp. I do no...
